Our objectives

MEITO promotes the development of the electronics/IT/telecoms sector in western France by interfacing with the stakeholders in general and its members in particular.

The association strives to :

• meet the collective needs of the sector's stakeholders : business, research centres and higher education institutions.
• act as an interface for information provision, networking and coordination of the sector's stakeholders.
• implement thematic or more general business development activities (particularly for SMEs).
• contribute to inward investment in western France by highlighting the region's attractiveness and leveraging its skills.
• inform regional institutions of sector-specific issues and raising awareness of solutions.
• supporting regional, national and international collective-interest initiatives set up by the public authorities.

MEITO current promotion of the sector's collective interests is funded by the 2007-2013 Region-State Planning Agreement.

This mission is being implemented through five action programmes:

• identification and monitoring of the region's companies and research establishments in this sector and the provision of technology-watching and economic intelligence services.

• coordination of regional stakeholders via information provision, awareness-raising and networking.

• project engineering for individual and collaborative innovation programmes in technical, scientific and applied areas.

• promoting and leveraging the region's sector skills and know-how.

• support for Brittany region's innovation and economic development networks.
